Website Open For Business
Welcome to my website. I can now declare it open. I have been using Textpattern to build up the content on this website (including content from my old website). Textpattern is a versatile program. In some ways quite complex (compared to producing pages in Mozilla), but I can see lots of upside such as:
- an easy way to add new content, including a blog,
- an automated and professional looking layout,
- an RSS feed produced automatically,
- the ability to receive feedback from readers,
- a comprehensive traffic report.
My old website was basic, but I thought worked well. The difficult thing was the time involved in adding new content. The work was easy, it just took time. So as the cost of adding content was higher, I added less content.
I have started off with a very basic style sheet (slightly modified) called Simple Neutral. In the near future, I want to change the style to include a smaller ‘home’ page and an archive for older content, as well as a list of articles and links.
