The Nativity of Christ
The Nativity of Christ (1597) by Federico Barocci depicts the scene of the birth of Jesus Christ. Mary admires her new born baby lying in the manger, while Joseph opens the door to the shepherds and points to the child1. The painting portrays the humility of Jesus birth and as far as I know is accurate to the bible (notice there are no wise men, they come a little bit later).

Why not read the account of Jesus’ birth this Christmas? The account can be found in the new testament books of Luke and Matthew. I have done the leg work for you. To read the full story, read: Luke 1:26-38, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:1-21, Matthew 2:1-23.
